Guided by Debbie’s extensive career in midwifery and her unwavering dedication to Black maternal health, we strive to dismantle systemic barriers, reduce disparities, and promote reproductive justice. By leveraging proven strategies and centering the voices of those most impacted, we aim to create a future where equitable maternal health outcomes are not just a goal but a reality for all.
Biography
Debbie Allen is a Mother, Licensed Midwife, Childbirth Educator, Maternal Health Advocate, founder of Tribe Midwifery, and Co-Founder of The Well-Being Alliance in Los Angeles, California. Debbie has supported families in their reproductive health choices for over 29 years through Doula services, childbirth education, lactation support, public health, and Midwifery. Debbie was the Co-Director and Chief Financial Officer of the first black-owned birth center in Los Angeles, The Community Birth Center. In 2014 Debbie founded Tribe Midwifery, a successful home birth Midwifery practice serving Los Angeles and San Bernardino County.
